Aether Guitars started long before the name existed. Thomas finished his furniture making degree in Nijmegen, but the real education happened earlier, in his grandfather's workshop — an old-school woodworker who worked almost entirely by hand. He taught Thomas to read wood, trust his hands, and take the time a piece actually needs instead of the time you wish it took. When his grandfather passed away, Thomas didn't want that way of working, or that relationship, to simply end with him. Building guitars became his way of carrying it forward. Today, Aether Guitars designs and builds fully custom electric guitars by hand in Nijmegen, the Netherlands — every instrument still starting the way his grandfather taught him: slow, deliberate, and built to last.
